Belgium: a preferred European manufacturing location 26/01/17

“US companies play an outsize role in Belgium’s manufacturing sector”, says Marcel Claes, Chief Executive of the American Chamber of Commerce in Belgium. “Nothing demonstrates US companies’ commitment to Belgium more than their decision to locate production facilities here – these are substantial, long-term investments, which create a large number of good jobs.”

US companies account for 12.1% of manufacturing employment in Belgium. In addition to direct jobs, they also generate a significant amount of indirect employment through their supply chains and distribution channels.

Foreign companies with manufacturing facilities in Belgium include such prominent market leaders as Audi, Pfizer, Coca-Cola, Cargill, and Johnson & Johnson.
