Brussels’ Avenue Louise in world’s ‘Top Ten’ 14/02/12

Fielding a team of nearly 100 ‘mystery shoppers’, the Paris-based marketing agency Présence recently evaluated the world’s most congenial shopping precincts. Together with Luxembourg’s Avenue de la Liberté, Amsterdam’s PC Hooftstraat and Vienna’s Mariahilferstrasse, Brussels’ Avenue Louise ranks in the ‘Top Ten’ worldwide, ahead of Tokyo’s Ginza Line and London‘s Bond Street. Commenting on the result Benoit Cerexhe, Minister of Economy and Commerce for the Brussels-Capital Region, said this rewarded the capital’s efforts to remodel its current image as an essentially administrative city. The Présence assessment takes not only precinct ambiance into account, but also shop appeal, customer reception and shopkeeper relations.
